A highly effective, customized and minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that unveils your most radiant skin.
What is it?
A chemical peel—also known as chemexfoliation or dermapeeling—uses a chemical solution to remove skin layers and improve skin appearance, tone, and texture. Chemical peels can help improve or reduce scarring, sun and age spots, wrinkles, acne and dull complexions.
At Midwest Dermatology, we are committed to delivering specialized skincare that rejuvenates your skin and improves your overall skin health. Chemical peels can be highly effective for many patients, combining removal of old, dull skin cells with the stimulation of new skin growth. The result is rapid, lasting improvement to skin tone, texture and complexion.
What to expect
The length of a chemical peel depends on your skin type and the prescribed peel. Some peels are complete as quickly as 15 minutes. To get started, we’ll thoroughly cleanse your face so your skin is ready for the peel. Once your skin is clean, we expertly apply the peel to your skin and begin monitoring its interaction with your skin. Our trained providers remove the peel at just the right time to optimize results while minimizing irritation. To sooth any discomfort, we offer cold compresses and skin care products after treatment.
After your treatment, we’ll walk you through your personalized home-care regimen to make sure you get the best results with the least downtime. We'll let you know how long to expect redness and swelling and when it is OK to use makeup again. For more intense peels, we may invite you back for a follow-up visit to ensure you get the ideal outcome.
