What is it?
Kybella® is a prescription injection used to improve the appearance and profile of fat below the chin and jawline. It is FDA approved to permanently destroy fat cells in the area commonly referred to as a “double chin.” The result is a contoured and defined jawline that lasts.
Kybella’s active ingredient is synthetic deoxycholic acid, a molecule that naturally exists in the body to aid in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the area under the chin, Kybella destroys fat cells that can be very difficult to manage with diet and exercise alone. The result is visible, permanent reduction in fullness under the chin. Once treated with Kybella, cells under your chin can no longer store or accumulate fat. That means once you reach your aesthetic goal, further treatment is not expected.
What to expect
Kybella treatments typically take less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Our trained providers administer a number of tiny injections under the skin, starting the process of Kybella gradually breaking down fat cells.
